Dances with Wolves. A new civil war in the mountains of madness

The wolf population in northern Spain has increased sixfold in recent years, causing significant fear and concern among local farmers. This rise has led to a severe conflict, with wolves moving closer to human settlements. Farmers now face constant threats to their livestock, with 83% of wolf attacks occurring less than 100 meters from homes. Annually, over 15,000 cattle are killed by wolves in Spain, causing immense economic and emotional strain.

Statistics highlight the urgency of the situation, with more than 300 concrete censuses documenting the growing wolf attacks. Farmers struggle to protect their herds, feeling increasingly besieged. "Dances with Wolves" captures the harsh reality of life in the Cantabrian Mountains, showcasing the delicate balance between human survival and nature's challenges.
